SOUTHERN MYSTIQUE FILM CAMP 2011
AUGUST 7-13, 2011 Providing Students with Film Training for 11 Years When: August 7-13, with a Premiere of Students’ Works on August 13th Where: Classes are held in the historic new suite of offices in historic Old Towne Petersburg, VA! Who can apply? Anyone between the ages of 14 and 24 who wants to be involved in film. Fill out the form below and a representative will contact you for payment of your $75.00 application fee to reserve your space. Slots are filled on a first come basis and classes will be closed when they are filled. Conducted by: The Central Virginia Film Institute and staff members of New Millennium Studios. What you will learn: Choose one of our Film Studios - During the Camp you will be teamed up with 10-12 other student filmmakers, where you will each play a crucial role in developing and completing your team’s project! FILMMAKER’S STUDIO: You will learn how to conceive, script, rehearse, shoot and edit film all in one weekend! Thanks to a generous grant from the Cameron Foundation, we now offer access to filmmaking with Sony HDV equipment. Tuition: Just $595 per student (includes application fee, tuition, all production and instructional materials, and snacks and lunches).

ACTOR’S STUDIO: Students will be introduced to the specific requirements of acting in film and television. Exercises on video will help students develop techniques for rehearsing, reading, auditioning, and creating a meaningful performance before the camera.
